Participant Safety & Feedback

PARTICIPANT SAFETY & FEEDBACK

PARTICIPANT SAFETY & FEEDBACK

A respectful space for honest reflection.

Journey invites thoughtful conversation without pressure, diagnosis or forced disclosure. These principles describe the boundaries expected in Journey conversations, Waypoints and organisational settings.

Safety concerns and complaints may be sent to admin@inalajourney.com. We aim to acknowledge each message within five business days. If the matter remains unresolved after ten business days, it may be escalated to pruys@inalajourney.com. Any organisation using Journey materials remains responsible for its own safeguarding, employment and reporting duties.

1. Core commitments

Journey is designed to help adults pause, reflect and choose a practical next step. It works best when people are treated with dignity and are free to decide what they wish to share.

Participation is voluntary

A person may listen, pass on a question, keep a reflection private or leave a conversation.

Respect comes first

Questions are invitations. Shaming, coercion, ridicule, harassment and spiritual pressure have no place in a Journey setting.

Stories belong to people

Personal information should not be repeated outside the group without permission, subject to safety and legal limits.

Choice remains personal

A Guide or leader may support reflection, but does not choose another person’s answer or next step.

2. Choice, privacy and confidentiality

Participants should know the purpose of a session, who will be present and how any notes or feedback will be used. Private reflections should not be collected unless a separate, clear reason and privacy process have been approved.

Confidentiality cannot be promised without limits. A Guide or host may need to seek help where there is an immediate safety concern, a credible threat, suspected abuse, or a legal duty to report. These limits should be explained before a sensitive conversation begins.

Photographs, recordings, testimonials and identifiable stories require specific permission. Silence or attendance is not permission.

3. The role and limits of a Journey Guide

A Journey Guide protects the space, asks thoughtful questions, keeps the group within agreed boundaries and helps participants identify their own next steps.

A Guide is not acting as a therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, pastor or emergency responder unless separately qualified and explicitly serving in that professional role. Journey material must not be used to diagnose, treat or investigate a participant.

Where a need falls outside the Guide’s competence, the responsible response is to pause, acknowledge the limit and encourage appropriate qualified support.

4. Journey in organisations

Personal reflection should remain separate from employee assessment, discipline, promotion and performance scoring. A participant should not be disadvantaged for declining to disclose a private belief, experience or reflection.

Employers and programme hosts remain responsible for their own human-resources, health-and-safety, grievance, safeguarding, data-protection and legal processes. Journey does not replace those processes.

Faith-rooted and secular materials should be clearly identified. People should not be placed into a faith-based conversation without informed and voluntary choice.

5. When urgent or specialist support is needed

Journey is not a crisis, counselling or emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional without delay.

Concerns involving abuse, self-harm, violence, serious mental distress or medical risk should not be managed only inside a Journey group. Follow the applicable safeguarding and legal process and seek qualified help.

This website cannot monitor emergencies or guarantee an immediate response.

6. Feedback, concerns and complaints

Feedback is welcome, including concerns about content, accessibility, a group experience, a Guide’s conduct, privacy or the use of Journey materials. Reports should be handled respectfully, shared only with those who need to respond and kept separate from promotional testimonials.

No person should face retaliation for raising a concern in good faith. Concerns may be sent to admin@inalajourney.com. We aim to acknowledge them within five business days. If a concern remains unresolved after ten business days, it may be escalated to pruys@inalajourney.com.

Raise a safety concern or complaint

Email the administrative contact with enough information for the concern to be understood and directed responsibly. We aim to acknowledge it within five business days. If it remains unresolved after ten business days, email pruys@inalajourney.com. This mailbox is not an emergency service.
